Business Development Manager

This position offers tremendous upside for a motivated individual who can successfully increase the firm’s exposure and generate new business. 

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for finding new clients, following up on leads generated through marketing, qualifying prospects, and helping to close sales for consulting projects ranging in size from $50k to $2+m.  The BDM will report to the Director of Business Development but will work closely with Marketing to develop effective sales campaigns and with Consulting to formulate effective sales presentations, proposals, and win strategies.

Prior Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

• 3-5 years experience selling consulting and/or technical services for a major consulting , IT services, or technology company
• A proven track record of meeting an annual quota of at least $1 million in prior sales positions
• Experience selling business intelligence and/or data warehousing services is preferred; experience selling strategy consulting, operations improvement, business process improvement, systems integration, IT strategy, and/or IT architecture projects is also relevant

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree
• Solid understanding of IT through some combination of education and/or experience
• Experience in one or more vertical industries, potentially including but not limited to financial services, manufacturing, retail, and/or insurance

Position Particulars

• Roughly 15-25% travel including industry conferences and client sites to facilitate sales process.

DecisionPath has opportunities available for both business and technical consultants who want to grow with the company.

DecisionPath Consultants combine business and IT education and experience to

• Conduct strategic assessments of clients' business models, operations strategy, IT strategy, and business intelligence/data warehousing (BI/DW) infrastructure and programs; make recommendations to maximize ROI from investments in BI/DW; and help clients implement these recommendations.
• Elicit information requirements through interviews and research for business intelligence/data warehousing initiatives
• Uncover and/or develop the business rules that transform transactional data into useful business information
• Prototype information presentation from BI/DW technical solutions
• Analyze, model, and document business processes and information flows
• Reengineer business processes to leverage the information provided by BI/DW technical solutions
• In general, define/ analyze business problems and recommendations

Business Consultants must have a MBA and/or graduate degree with a minimum of five years relevant work experience in IT or management consulting. Proficiency in SQL and data modeling experience is required. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience managing projects or significant work experience in a functional area or industry. Prior experience in BI/DW and willingness to travel is a plus.

Technical Consultants must have a Bachelor of Science degree in management information systems, computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or related engineering program with a minimum of five years experience working on BI/ DW projects. Candidates should have demonstrated work experience in at least two of the following areas: data modeling, data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL), data quality management, metadata management, data development, database management, business intelligence, data mining or technical project management.  Willingness to travel is a plus.

ETL Architect/Developer

We are seeking skilled ETL architects/developers with 5+ years of BI/DW experience.  Experience with Business Objects Data Integrator preferred, or experience with more than one ETL tool and ability to quickly adapt to new tools. Candidates should have a BS in MIS or technical field with an MS preferred.  Previous work experience with a consulting, systems integration, or IT professional services firm is preferred.  Key attributes we are seeking include the following:

• ability to define overall ETL approach and configure data flows between sources and target persistent data stores
• ability to work within client technical environment to define and gain approval for end-to-end data integration flows, ETL job scheduling, code migration, connection to sources, and all other aspects of developing and running a world-class ETL/data integration operation
• ability to develop source-to-target mappings and pseudo-code for use by ETL developers
• ability to develop ETL programs
• strong knowledge of relational, normalized, and dimensional data structures
• knowledge of data profiling and metadata management tools within ETL suites
• the ability to deal professionally and tactfully with different types of people in a variety of organizations

Data Architect

We are seeking skilled business data architects/modelers with 5+ years of IT experience with a focus in BI/DW and data architecture.  Candidates should have a BS in MIS, Business/Management, or technical field with an MS or MBA preferred.  Previous work experience with a consulting, systems integration, or IT professional services firm is preferred.  Candidates should demonstrate the following key attributes:

• strong knowledge of relational, normalized, and dimensional data structures
• the ability to tailor BI and DW architectural approaches to client requirements
• strong knowledge of application, data, and technical architecture
• expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling
• ability to develop logical data models in ErWin 3.5.2/4.X

BI/DW Technical Director

The BI/DW Technical Director will be responsible for leading the continued enhancement of DecisionPath's technical competencies and to provide BI/DW technical strategy advice to world-class companies and forward-looking government agencies.

The ideal candidate will be an exceptional IT professional with 15+ years of broad-based systems integration experience for enterprise transactional and BI/DW systems.  This person should be a technical strategist with a solid foundation in mainframe and distributed computing environments plus depth of knowledge of the major technologies and products found in enterprise scale BI/DW deployments.

Candidates must have the ability to communicate complex technical concepts and tradeoffs to business executives and managers. An MS or PhD in a relevant technical discipline is preferred.

Marketing Manager

This is an ideal position for an experienced marketing professional to help a top caliber IT consulting firm reach its next level of success.   We are looking for a person who has experience creating marketing and sales approaches with the primary goal of lead generation in enterprises of <$50 Mil revenue.  Although the firm serves commercial and government clients, the focus of this Marketing Manager role will be on commercial markets.

This Marketing Manager reports to the President and is positioned to direct various marketing functions as follows:

Primary:

• overall lead generation and marketing strategy development,
• execution of various direct marketing and web-based marketing campaigns,
• marketing campaign performance measurement,
• industry specific collateral design & messaging,
• information management in a SalesForce.com CRM environment,

Secondary:

• customer events,
• tradeshow management,
• business development support,
• competitive analysis,
• media outreach,

The Marketing Manager role is not positioned to do direct follow-up activities with prospects (eg, follow-up calling).  These activities are done by other business development staff members.   

Experience & Education:

• 3-5 years of similar marketing experience in enterprises of <$50 Mil in revenue
• Experience building new marketing frameworks and/or approaches in a professional services context
• Bachelor’s degree with focus on Marketing and/or Business Administration.  MBA a plus, but not required.
