New research from DecisionPath Consulting shows the disconnect between business users and BI teams. Key findings of the research show that this disonnect has impact at three levels:
- at a company level, there’s a widespread lack of BI maturity, with many companies recognizing the potential, but not the pathway to more sophisticated BI.
- at a business function level, there’s a disconnect between BI need and current BI use due, often, to lack of communication between the BI teams and business user.
- at an IT/BI management level, there’s a vicious cycle of ad-hoc report generation drawing focus away from higher value BI
